I liked the idea of my home project. I wanted to focus more on architecture, so I decided to zoom in and not have any nature landscape including a sky. Drawing all the little desserts and signs was a lot of fun. I liked having more creative freedom over choosing whatever I wanted rather than was makes sense in nature. There are many places I messed up, but it was still a fun project. There needed to be more shading as the shop looks pretty flat. I also wish I chose a more sat

Process Post # 5
So, my goals are watercolor and light source. I decided to take a break from acrylic paint and try watercolor again because I had fun last time. I decided to make this a process painting because I have to hang my mine and Caitlyn's show which has taken up a lot of class time to paint. So far, I've blocked out most of my piece very loosely. I'm trying to work really lightly because I know I can't erase or go lighter which is definitely the hardest part of watercolor in my opin

Process Post #4 Part 2
12/19/25 I haven't finished my piece all the way yet, but I have blocked in the big parts of the piece. I painted an edge of the building, but I realized the perspective line is off so I need to do redo it. I think the strong balance of the three primary colors looks good. I think when I do the fine details of the edges and the clock the piece will start to look more polished. I also need to emphasize highlights and shadows more.

Process Post #4
12/1/25 While my composition is pretty central, I think the diagonals and interesting colors make up for it. The composition isn't symmetrical so it still is compositionally good. I'm trying to maintain the bright colors of the original castle. My reference picture is the National Palace of Pena in Portugal. So far, I haven't made much progress due to my home project and college applications, but I've blocked in the big parts of the painting. I'm not sure how I want to do the

Process Post Project #2
So far, I have created a good outline of my painting. My idea for the painting was to make a scene through a window so I could incorporate a building as well as create atmospheric perspective in the background. I decided to block in my building with some basic colors before I move on to the landscape because it requires more colors. For the landscape I want to have a central color incorporated into my colors so I can make a uniform palette with a base color. I think I will ad
