Process Post Project #8

For the last project of the school year, I am painting a scene from Greece. My goals were to use a real life reference photo and to work on my content. I traveled to Greece last summer and it was place that is very memorable for me. I used a reference picture from when I visited. I started off my sketching my scene. Then, I started painting the main building with basic blocked colors. I still have to include highlights and shadows. The most recent thing I worked on is the ocean in the background and adding the little sailboat. I still have to paint all the side buildings and include a lot more detail in the piece. I think I'll work on the sky last because I don't know if I want to make it blue or a sunset yellow yet.
