Erin Hanson was born in 1981 and is an American painter known as the founder of Open Impressionism. Her style of work is characterized by minimal brush strokes and the impasto application of paint. She is passionate about the natural world and its beauty. Her work captures the beauty of natural landscapes with a unique blend of impressionism and expressionism. Her work has been compared to a modern-day blend of Monet and van Gogh.

I love the texture of her paintings. Every part of her pieces seem to move in every direction and move your eyes throughout the piece. I also love the use of vibrant colors in her piece. She uses both bright, vibrant colors and darker, muted colors. Despite these different shades, she is able to unify the piece by creating gradients that slowly shift the colors.
