For this painting, I wanted to incorporate flowers and nature with a surreal aspect. So, I decided to paint a face with bugs crawling everywhere along with flowers sprouting out of her head. I started off with painting the face as much as could, but I think I still need to contrast the lights and shadows more. Then, I blocked on the bugs and flowers, but they need more shading. Lastly, for the background, I wanted a dark color to contrast the bright flowers and Coach suggested an ombre background so I tried to blend in a darker purple with a lighter purple pink. I think the time is my biggest problem because I have so much more left. Also, I think blending in the colors has been hard because acrylic paint dries so fast and this canvas is huge so by the time I come back to working on the details for shading it's already dry and looks blotchy.
