The oil painting is finally done. Honestly, I loved oil painting and it was a really fun process. This was very different from my normal style of painting because I am very used to direct painting with acrylic paint. However, oil painting is more wet and thinner, so it is a different experience. The grisaille underpainting really helped to do the piece with because most of the values were already there.

This is the progress through the process of my paintings. I finished the underpainting and began by painting the pear, then parts of the ball, and the background. Through the process, I realized that the cardboard color was too yellow, so I changed the color. I continued working and tweaking the painting until I reached a final one that I liked. This was a very process that I enjoyed and I learned a lot more about painting and how oil can be used to thin paint and create a pretty medium.
