I have been working on my still life for a week now because I missed a week because I was sick. I have gotten a good start for my grisaille underpainting. I like my still life arrangement, but the object that I think that I will have a difficult time painting will be my pear because it is reflective and so many tiny mirrors. I'm just going to have to be patient with myself and try my best to paint it. The grisaille underpainting has been going pretty decent so far as well. The oil paint can be pretty thick and hard to work with and then when you put it in the solvent it gets too watery so it can be pretty frustrating to work with, but I think I have gotten better at handling it. So far, I have created the basic structure of my objects with the underpainting using titanium white and ivory black. I learned that you can't quickly layer the colors like acrylic paint because the oil paint takes a lot longer to dry. But the process has been pretty fun so far.
