Memory Sculpture Process Post

My memory sculpture represents early childhood memories as well as how our memories like a puzzle pieces that are connected to make a large story. I'm going to add a slide and that along with the ramp will represent how memories connect from different events and that we use these memories to remember different events. So far, I have completed the bottom two puzzle pieces which will serve as a bottom platform. Then I added pillar to hold up a second layer. On the second layer, so far, I have only added the ramp and I am going to cast something to put on the ramp. The dowels that are hanging from the second platform are going to be the ropes for swings and bars. Something that has been difficult in doing this project is cutting all the wood into precise cuts. Some of the wood pieces are really thick, so it was hard to cut through it. It was also difficult for me to make the round piece of the puzzle piece to actually be round and smooth. I tried to sand by hand, but then I used the electric sander and that was definitely a lot better and quicker.
